We are very happy to announce that our videos will now be appearing on the very sexy new voyager phone in the USA with thanks to verizon who have 62 million users! Video Ads on iFoods

How do we pay for the videos and keep all the great features at iFoods free? Simple, advertising! Now banner ads can be a bit annoying and can sometimes make sites ugly so we have a better solution! Video ads! First ads start running next week and here is a little sample of what they will be like. Let us know what you think and if you would prefer banner ads or 10 second video ads before an iFoods video. As always we on iFoods we'll listen to what you guys, the users, have to say!

iFoods Coming out of BETA

After 5 months of non stop testing and a brand spanking new design we are ready to come out of BETA on Friday and become fully fledged members of the internet fraternity!
As you can see from the screen grab below we have implemented text recipes to help all our users who are slowly making the transition from cookbooks to Video recipes, a sort of hybrid recipe if you will! Add to that profile widgets, embeddable YouTube videos and lots of other exciting additions and we have a great little place for foodies to hand out!
There are still a few last minute tweaks to be made and we are implementing some new features as we speak to help keep our users as happy as possible! Let us know what you do and don't like and hope you enjoy the site.

Something really cool!

Now i am not really sure what you can do with this funky little widget apart from embedding it into your profile but it is pretty to look at and unusual so i though i'd share it with you. Just in case you are not familiar with Blinkx it is the biggest video search engine in the world and we have just launched an iFoods channel there.

Two new iFoods stars are born

Well after filming 130 videos on my own its time to introduce a couple of new faces to iFoods and you will be happy to know that they have a wealth of food related expertise to hopefully pass on to you all. So without further ado I present to you two culinary experts who are both at the head of their respective fields....

Jack is a well known butcher who will be guiding all the iFoods users through a series of butchery lessons over the coming months. He is a good personal friend if mine and rather than give him a big head by singing his praises here is what the Guardian had to say about him when they named him in their recent magazine when they named him 3rd best meat supllier in the UK....

Since this dashing former racehorse trainer opened his UK shop last year he has been snapped up as a supplier to Heston Blumenthal's Fat Duck restaurant, and has even been seen lurking in Heston's new 'anorak' cooking series - so the beef should be good. And it is. Extraordinarily tender, 'bone-aged' Black Angus beef from Ireland, slaughtered at O'Shea's family abattoir. You can see the sides of beef hanging as you enter the shop and even demand extra time for that deep, deep flavour. Seaweed-fed Orkney lamb, organic and rare-breed pork, free-range and organic chickens, wild game and wagyu beef also available. Jack O'Shea, who also has a shop in Brussels, cuts meat the continental way - ask for unusual steak cuts for quick grilling including beef bavette, beef onglet and lamb pavé.

We start the series with 4 fantastic videos on deboning a leg of lamb and all the great secret hidden cuts you can find on the leg. We will be filming a whole range of butchery series over the coming months with Jack.

Pieter Plaetinck
Pieter has been with us for 6 months designing the recipes so we deceided to throw him in front of the camera and see how he got on! Having a small child he is obsessed with healthy food for babies so comes in to help share some of that knowledge. Read more about Pieter's background here and see one of his baby videos here.

YouTube videos on iFoods.tv

Today is an exciting day for us as we have added a funky new feature to the profiles that allows you to show off all your favourite and funniest videos from Youtube. You can also feature your favourite iFoods videos or select another iFood's member video. Its a great way of livening up your profiles and showing off your favourite clips! Check out this hilarious video I put on mine yesterday called the Riverdance Rap. If you are Irish or even know about the Riverdance phenomonen you will find this hilarious! Looking forward to seeing all your funny clips!

New iFoods video Intro

We launched our Joost channel today and we are just about to implement our new intro. As always we are giving you regular blog readers the exclusive! We need as much feedback as possible, be it good or bad as there will be 1000s of people seeing this in the future! Any opinions are welcome!

New Brownie points!

For those of you taking part in the competition every month trying to scoop the cash we thought it would only be fair to let you all in on the important rule changes! As of today you will be granted a massive 10 points for emailing a friend and having them succesfully join iFoods. This should even the playing field and hopefully help all of you give our 3 time champion foodwishes a run for his money! We will also be adding a featre this week where you will be able to give all your best friends and favourite iFoods members brownie points as a little sign of your apprecation of them!

More Exciting developpments

We are very happy to let you all know that we have been busy working behind the scenes here on iFoods and there are a few interesting new developments that we are super excited to announce. The first is that over the last few months we have been in negotiations with exciting new internet TV channel Joost and we are happy to announce we will be launching iFoods on Joost next week.
Joost has been created by the founders of Skype and Kazza and is seen as the perfect way of merging conventional TV with the internet!

Today was pretty exciting as we had to make a funky intro to be used on Joost and this involved standing for hours infront of a green screen which is basically the technology they use to make Star Wars and Lord of The Rings.
We should end up with a really funky intro which we will be unveiling at the end of the week.

Watch out in the next couple of days for some more very exciting developments here on iFoods.

Another day and even more exciting news for iFoods users with the unveiling of our brand new users profiles! We have added a whole host of new features including....

Cadburys Gorilla video Ad

I am making a promise to all of you now that i will be blogging every day from now on! Things have been so busy but from now on i will be bringing you the latest ifoods news and a few funny food related stories! Here is the first cool one that i have found which is a video recipe from the site which is quite easily the best video ad i have ever seen! If you havn't seen it before be patient as it really is brilliant! Never knew this song could sound so good, never liked it up until now!

In The highly unlikely event that you happen to have cooked all 80 recipes we launched with in the last 2 months we are happy to announce that we have just added an additional 20. PArticular highlights include "The perfect steak" which is a follow on from the original video you saw here months ago and actually became so popular we choose to turn iFoods into a pro site!

More good news is that the videos we finished in London recently are in the post production phase as we speak and they include some great holioday classics to guide you through the season!

Competition

Well what’s been happening here at iFoods.tv for the last couple of weeks, well quite a lot actually. We are happy to announce that the user foodwishes has won our first ever monthly brownie points competition. Check out his personal web page here He now has the luxury of being called the iFoods user of the month and is also the proud winner of $150! The competition was pretty hot towards the end but he just got over the finish line first. Don’t forget that the latest instalment of the competition has just started again and the prizes will be handed out again at the end of every month.

We also hope than you are all enjoying the fact that all iFoods videos are now still free as well and just to keep the good news rolling we are happy to let you all know that we are filming our current set of videos in a beautiful penthouse apartment in London. New features on iFoods.tv

Couple of new things happening on the blog today guys! The first is that you can now take the member videos and "embed them" which means place them on your blog, myspace, facebook or bebo.

The other exciting thing is that you can now win prizes on iFoods. All you have to do is collect "brownie points" which you will be able to read about on the site tomorrow. Basically the top users of the month will be rewarded! Look out for all the details tomorrow!

iFoods Video recipe now free for all!

Well folks a lot has been happening here at iFoods since our launch 3 weeks ago and as promised we have some very exciting news. We are very happy to announce that we have agreed sponsorship with a company and what makes it so exciting for you website visitors is that everything on iFoods will now be free to view! Yes FREE. No more having to subscribe for some videos, it means that every single time you feel like cooking you will have the choice of a hundred recipes and unlike cookbooks or some other sites it will all be free! This was always our intention and now that we have the right partner to help us with this we are extremely happy and so glad that you can all benefit from it! This comes into effect tomorrow and we hope you’ll all be there cooking the unlocked recipes! Enjoy!

Big Big announcemnt coming next week

iFoods is getting bigger and bigger and we are getting some really good coverage in the press and on the web. The good news for all you people who have signed up is that there is a massive announcement coming from us about the future of this site next Wednesday at 12 o'clock Irish time. You would not believe how big this is going to be and we would love to tell you right now but it's just not possible!

All we can say now is that if you thought iFoods was good now and were enjoying it then it's all about to go to a whole new level! You just will not believe this!

After a lot of hard work we are happy to announce that the cooking videos that started here 6 months ago as a hobby as now turned into my full time job!

Up and running smoothly

Well guys we have been up and runnig for a week now and are happy with the progress we are making! More and more of you are signing up and the feedback has been good. The next step is promoting the site for the next month before we film our next batch of 50 videos in September. We need everybodies help with getting this off the ground cause unlike big sites our budgets are tight and we would rather spend our money on making the site better and filming more videos for all our users to enjoy. Please please spread the word and if anybody has a site out there placing one of the following links on your site would be much appreciated.

Subscribing problems

Just a quick update to all of you who have been trying to subscribe to the videos and having problems. Our Web guys are working on it today to make it more clear but basically there will be 25 free videos and a further 55 subscribed at 4.99 a month. To subscribe at the moment you need to go to your profile and "renew subscription". This will be made a lot clearer and easier to use by the end of the day!
Why subscribe? Well you would buy a cookbook wouldn't you? We feel that this is the next step in the evolution of the cookbook. Not only will you have the original videos as a subscriber but we are also adding 200 per year to the subscribed section so that as many dishes as possible are there for you to learn! Enjoy!
